Pocket-size Internet guide released CYBER Gear, a Dubai-based web designing, web hosting and e-commerce solutions company, has published a pocket-size UAE Internet guide. The 106-page book offers information about almost all the web sites in the UAE and those related to the country. Priced at Dh20, the guide is being sold at bookstores and will soon be available at select supermarkets and Dubai Duty Free. The guide will also be on sale at the company's stand at this year's Gitex at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). About 5,000 copies of the guide have been printed. The web sites have been organized in 14 different categories. "The guide covers almost 90 per cent of the web sites in the UAE." "The number of web sites keeps changing. We have offered details about 750 web sites which relates to the UAE. We plan to come out with the second edition in January next year. We have no plans to make it on-line," said Sharad Agarwal, Managing Director of Cyber Gear. The company has produced web sites for nearly 100 companies including Dubai Duty Free, World of Events by Dnata, Xerox, Deira City Centre, Al Ghurair Retail City, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Galadari Brothers, Varkey Group, Jumbo Electronics and Jashanmal National Company. His company has previously published a Middle East Internet Directory covering 16 countries. It decided not to come out with its print edition having made the directory available on-line.
