DoubleClick Inc., the leading global Internet advertising solutions company, unveiled Monday DoubleClick eMail, one of the industry's most comprehensive suite of customer acquisition and retention email products for online direct marketers and publishers. The DoubleClick eMail suite encompasses technology, media and data products, which integrate the DART(TM) technology with DoubleClick's online and direct marketing expertise in order to deliver email marketing solutions that provide real time results and reports and enable continuous optimization. DoubleClick eMail is expected to be available internationally at the end of the fourth quarter of 2000.

On the technology side of the business, DoubleClick unveiled DARTmail Publisher, which is in full production mode and DARTmail Campaign Manager which already has more than 35 customers, including Payless.com and Edgar Online.

DARTmail Publisher, one of the industry's most robust email ad serving solutions, employs the industry standard DART technology to serve dynamically targeted ads into text and HTML email, deliver and report on highly customized messages and provide publishers with an unsurpassed scalable system that can deliver approximately 500 million emails per day. DARTmail Publisher is used by an expanding list of clients that include: About Inc., Gamers.com, B2BWorks and The New Republic Online.

DoubleClick's DARTmail Campaign Manager offers marketers a full service solution for direct email marketing. This service enables marketers to deliver highly personalized email communications to their existing customers for the purpose of building long term profitable relationships. Moreover, DARTmail Campaign Manager will help merchants build their customer lists and facilitate outbound communications (i.e. Promotion offers) to build loyalty and drive incremental revenue.

On the media side, DoubleClick unveiled the eMail Network and eMail List Services products. The eMail Network aggregates and organizes email newsletters into six different content categories enabling advertisers to run banner and text advertisements across multiple newsletters with a single media buy. Advertisers can purchase Sponsorships, Run of Network and Category Buys on the Newsletter Network. The content categories include: Automotive, Business, Entertainment & Youth, Technology, Travel, Women and Health. Utilizing DoubleClick's powerful DARTmail technology, email content and advertising is served dynamically and targeted to specific audiences. Currently, the eMail Network has over 140 Newsletters from 36 different publishers including: GetMusic, Atomz.com, Backwire, eCRUSH.com, GamePro.com, Internet Wire, The National Review Online, PM Zone and Zagat.com.

DoubleClick eMail List Services is an email marketing solution that comprehensively meets the needs of both list renters and list owners. DoubleClick eMail List Services helps advertisers (list renters) drive customer acquisition by providing direct access to over 15 million high quality consent-based email names across a wide selection of content categories. Upon the completion of its merger with NetCreations, DoubleClick will have the largest database of opt-in emails, with more than 30 million email names. DoubleClick List Services also offers PredictiveMail, which is available only to Abacus Online Alliance members. These lists target responsive opt-in customers using statistically analyzed purchase data for email prospecting or retention offers. In recent prospecting campaigns, PredictiveMail targeting increased click-through response by up to 100 percent.

In addition, DoubleClick manages opt-in email lists for third-party Web sites to help these list owners generate additional revenue. These sites include: Dialpad, Inc., Shockwave, Topica and QuoteStream.

"With DoubleClick eMail, we are providing publishers and online marketers with the industry's most comprehensive suite of media, technology and data email marketing tools to attract, retain and grow their customer base," said Court Cunningham, vice president of DARTmail Technology, DoubleClick. "The combination of DoubleClick's dynamic ad targeting and reporting technology, and expertise in online marketing, positions us well to capture this expanding market, which Jupiter Communications predicts will grow to $7.3 billion in 2005 from $164 million in 1999."
