Doubleclick Strengthens Sales & Account Management Team

New York, 11/13/2002 - DoubleClick Inc. (Nasdaq: DCLK), the leading provider of tools for advertisers, web publishers and direct marketers, today announced the addition of new senior-level hires within its sales and account management team as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to being a world-class customer service organization.

John Healy, previously the Senior Vice President of Sales at Abacus, will now assume the role of Senior Vice President of Global Sales. Healy brings more than twenty years of sales and marketing experience to his role of overseeing the sales and account management for DoubleClick’s 2,000 technology and email customers throughout North America, Europe and Asia. In just one year, Healy has made a significant impact on the performance of the Abacus sales team. Under his sales leadership, the business returned to a strong profitability level, and in the third quarter of 2002 revenues for the core Abacus business were up 11% year-over-year, despite the downturn in the direct marketing industry. Prior to joining Abacus, Healy was Executive Vice President of the Direct Marketing Solutions division of Equifax, Inc. Healy has also held senior roles at Advo, Inc., Pepsi-Cola and Johnson & Johnson.

In addition, DoubleClick has hired Joseph LaManna as Vice President of North American Sales, reporting to John Healy. LaManna will be responsible for managing and directing the sales and account management activities for the company’s publisher, marketer and agency divisions, which collectively represented more than 50% of DoubleClick’s revenue in the third quarter of 2002. He is a seasoned sales executive with more than 18 years of experience, most recently as the Vice President of Global Sales at Register.com and the Vice President of Sales at Applied Theory. LaManna also spent fifteen years at Bell Atlantic (formerly NYNEX) where he closed some of the company’s largest and most profitable business accounts.

“As our business continues to move in the direction of working with customers on multiple levels, it is increasingly important that our sales and account management team has a proven history of solution selling, as demonstrated by both Healy and LaManna’s background,” said David Rosenblatt, President, DoubleClick Inc. “One of the reasons our customers choose to partner with us is due to the knowledge our sales team brings in working with them to advance their marketing programs, and Healy and LaManna will continue to strengthen that asset.”
